Privacy Policy

Privacy, in operational terms.

This policy explains what NOLO processes, what stays on your device, what is sent to third-party services to answer your requests, and which rights you have.

Short version: NOLO does not require an account by default and does not keep a server-side archive of your conversations. Your chat history is stored locally in your browser. To answer your requests, however, NOLO may transmit prompts, uploaded files, images, URLs or tool requests to AI and infrastructure providers. Do not submit information unless you have the right to process and share it for that purpose.

1. Who we are and how to contact us

NOLO is an independently operated AI assistant and productivity service available at nolo-app.com, with a landing page at landing.nolo-app.com and an Android APK.

For privacy questions, data requests, complaints or security reports, contact nolo.ai.app@gmail.com. If you contact us, we will process your email address and message content to respond to you.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy applies to NOLO's website, web app, Android APK, subscriptions, AI chat functionality, file/image processing, web search, live data tools, exports and gallery features.

It does not cover websites, AI providers, payment processors or third-party services that NOLO links to or uses as independent controllers. Their own policies apply to their processing.

3. Data categories NOLO may process

CategoryExamplesPurpose
Anonymous app identifierA random browser ID such as nolo_xxxUsage limits, plan access, abuse prevention, optional subscription linking.
Conversation contentYour messages, uploaded files, image prompts, generated image instructions, URLs or chat contextGenerating responses and performing the requested task. NOLO does not store this as a server-side conversation archive.
Local app dataChat history, settings, preferences, gallery metadata, projects and learned preferences stored in browser storageKeeping your workspace available on your device.
Usage and billing metadataPlan, token/credit counters, daily usage, subscription status, checkout eventsProviding paid plans, preventing cost abuse, enforcing fair limits and accounting.
Payment dataPayment method, card data, invoices and tax/billing data handled by StripePayments, subscriptions, fraud prevention, tax and financial recordkeeping.
Technical and security dataRequest timestamps, error logs, hosting/security metadata, rate-limit informationSecurity, debugging, service reliability and abuse prevention.
Support communicationsEmail address, support messages, attachments you send to supportResponding to requests and resolving problems.

4. What stays on your device

NOLO is designed so the conversation archive lives in your browser storage, typically localStorage and IndexedDB. This includes chat history and app state needed to reopen previous chats.

  • If you clear browser data, use a different browser, reset the app, or uninstall the APK, local history may be lost.
  • NOLO cannot recover local chat history that was deleted from your device.
  • Local storage is not the same as end-to-end encryption. Anyone with access to your unlocked device/browser profile may be able to see local data.
  • Incognito or anonymous modes may reduce local traces, but browser and OS behavior can vary.

5. AI, tools and third-party processing

When you ask NOLO to answer, search, analyze, generate images, edit images, read URLs, process files, create presentations or use live data, the relevant content may be sent to external infrastructure or AI/tool providers. This is necessary to perform the task.

Depending on the feature, recipients may include:

  • AI inference providers that generate text, reasoning or analysis.
  • Image generation/editing providers that create or modify images.
  • Search and URL retrieval providers that fetch current web information.
  • Hosting, database and security providers used to run the app and protect it.
  • Payment provider Stripe for checkout, subscriptions, billing and fraud prevention.

NOLO asks providers to process data for service delivery, but their own retention, security and compliance terms may apply. You should not send confidential, privileged, personal, regulated or client data unless you have authority to do so and the processing is appropriate for your use case.

7. Retention

NOLO keeps data only as long as needed for the purpose described, unless a longer period is required for legal, security or accounting reasons.

DataTypical retention
Local chat history and settingsUntil you delete it, reset the app, clear browser storage or uninstall the APK.
Server-side anonymous usage countersAs needed to enforce daily/monthly limits, troubleshoot abuse and maintain subscription access.
Payment and invoice recordsAs required by Stripe, tax, accounting and legal obligations.
Support emailsAs long as reasonably needed to resolve the issue and keep a record of the support interaction.
Security/error logsAs long as reasonably needed for debugging, security and abuse prevention.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to processing, portability, withdraw consent, and complain to a supervisory authority.

Because NOLO is anonymous by default, we may need your anonymous app ID, billing reference or other proof that a request relates to you before we can locate relevant server-side records. We cannot identify or export local browser history unless you export it from your device.

  • To delete local history, use the app's reset/export controls or clear browser data.
  • To request deletion of server-side usage/subscription metadata, contact nolo.ai.app@gmail.com.
  • To manage subscriptions, use the billing controls in the app or contact support.

9. Security

NOLO uses reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the service, including HTTPS, access controls, rate limits, provider-side infrastructure protections and separation between local chat history and server-side usage data.

No internet service can guarantee perfect security. You are responsible for protecting your device, browser profile, exported files, downloaded APK and any content you choose to submit.

10. Professional, legal and sensitive use

NOLO can be useful for legal, compliance, business and research workflows, but it is not a law firm, lawyer, accountant, doctor, financial adviser or regulated professional service. Using NOLO does not create an attorney-client relationship, professional privilege or a duty of confidentiality equivalent to one owed by your own adviser.

If you process client data, personal data, trade secrets, privileged material or regulated information, you are responsible for confirming that your use of NOLO and its providers is lawful, authorized and compatible with your professional duties.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as NOLO changes or as legal requirements evolve. The updated date at the top will change. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or on the website where appropriate.
